Growing food, nurturing the soil, sharing stories with others and living in harmony with nature is a way of life that makes us feel that we are trying, even in small ways, to do something to support our precious planet. In 2009 we bought a disused agricultural field with absolutely nothing on it. No water, no electricity, no house, just long grass, a few trees and a vision that has continued to evolve and manifest into something rather magical. It's been a long slow process, but through building a natural home, a value based business, obsessively making compost to nurture the soil, continuously planting trees and being mindful of how we treat ourselves and others, then we're doing the best we can.
It's so satisfying when your hard work, like sewing seeds and caring for young plant, manifests into tasty food and the garden becomes abundant with natural beauty and wildlife. It's also a real pleasure to meet guests in the garden and help them chose fresh food for dinner. It's a joy to just meet guests in the garden to be honest, and to simply spend time having a nice wee chat, sharing stories and connecting with each other. It's the simple things in life that mean the most!
If we simply do the best we can, in whatever ways we can, wherever we can, then blessed be!
